Story Starters for kids . . .

We know that kids have the best imaginations in the whole world.  It’s a good thing too, because the world needs your stories.  That’s why we’ll be posting a Story Starter every so often that you can collaborate on with other kids.   Here’s how we do it:

  • Read the story from the very first idea, then add onto it after the last one.
  • This is a collaborative story.  That means it’s invented by more that one kid and everyone’s ideas are important,? right  So we don’t change the details that other kids dream up.  We ADD onto them.
  • Problems in our story get solved by using our imaginations and know-how, not through violence.  Yup.  That means no guns, weapons and no killing. (You can write your own stories about that stuff if you want)

We can’t wait to read your stories.  Have Fun!

Story Starter:  The Lost Cave

Once upon a time there was a teeny, tiny, little worm who had the most annoying habit.  This celery green worm chomped holes in everything – leaves, sticks, pine cones, backpacks, cheese, even rocks!  One day the worm was especially hungry and decided to find something delicious to eat . . . (OK, you take it from here)
